Why retrain my appetite?
I believe that in the West today many people are struggling with their weight because the food they eat is actually too low in vital nutrients. Because our bodies are designed to keep eating until we have all the nutrition we need, a diet low in vital nutrients will - for many people - result in unhealthy weight gain.
Additionally the sweetness which naturally comes packaged with vitamins and fibre, in foods such as fruit, is found without this good stuff in refined sugars. I have actually found that consumption of refined sugars makes me feel hungry even when I have eaten more than would normally satisfy me.
Therefore, I believe that eating a diet high in nutritional value, and low in refined sugars, can allow our bodies to regulate themselves in the way we were designed to do.
This website is designed to be a simple way of sharing what I have learned about this way of eating. It is my hope and prayer that this would help others towards a healthy weight without having to resort to drastic diets or gastric surgery. I hope it will allow you also to retrain your appetite, and so gain freedom in relation to food and weight.
